Thermochromy – heat as a verifier

Thermochromic inks, which change color when exposed to temperature, offer a unique way to protect documents: Reversible: The color changes when exposed to heat (e.g. by the hands) and returns to its original form when cooled. Irreversible: The color change remains permanent once a certain temperature is reached. This type of paint is used to mark areas of the document that, under the influence of the heat of the human body or other source of temperature, reveal a hidden pattern or inscription.
