Before ordering a print, it is worth knowing the difference between glow-in-the-dark printing and printing glowing in UV light. The first important difference is the type of special paints used. Glow-in-the-dark printing is based on the use of phosphorescent inks, which store light energy (coming from sunlight or artificial light) and then give it away in the form of glow in the dark.

Fluorescent printing, on the other hand, uses transparent fluorescent inks that are invisible in daylight and glow brightly only when exposed to UV lamps. The second difference is the lighting time. The phosphorescent effect causes prints to glow on their own in the dark for several hours after prior exposure, without the need for an external light source. On the other hand, transparent prints, made with invisible fluorescent inks, glow only in the presence of UV light. When the light source is switched off, the glowing effect stops.

Invisible fluorescent inks come in standard UV glowing colors like yellow, blue, green, red, and orange. At the customer’s request, we adjust the intensity of the glowing effect under UV light. It is also possible to prepare the paint in such a way that UV colors are visible in two ranges of UV light. Phosphorizing paints are available in two popular colors such as blue and green and in the original red. To achieve the glow-in-the-dark effect, they must first be exposed to natural, artificial or UV light. They can glow in the dark for up to several hours.
